About Wamba Ranch
Wamba Ranch is a 30-acre horse farm located just outside the Texarkana city limits, in the quiet rural community of Wamba, TX. The ranch is home to horses, pigs, a peaceful pond, and a friendly barn cat named Biscuit who often greets visitors. Our beautiful horse barn includes spacious stalls and a dedicated counseling wing designed to offer comfort and privacy. With walking trails, shaded seating areas, a riding arena, and a covered round pen, Wamba Ranch provides a calm, natural setting that supports reflection, movement, and connection throughout the therapeutic process.
Why Horses?
At Wamba Ranch, we incorporate horses into counseling because their presence naturally encourages calm, awareness, and connection. Horses are highly attuned to their environment and respond in real time to human behavior, making them helpful in fostering mindfulness and emotional regulation. Working around them can highlight patterns in communicating, setting boundaries, or managing stress without judgment or interpretation. Simply being near horses in a quiet, outdoor setting can create space for reflection and a different kind of self-awareness that complements traditional therapy.
